You love anime. You have a creative mind and artistic ability. Did you know that you can make a great salary at a job you love as an animator?

These professionals work in several different environments – they create animated films, animation for video games, and special effects for movies. As an animator you may also find your self working for a website or advertising firm creating animation for the internet.

Animators must have a good balance of creativity and technical know-how because you will probably be using computer programs for most of your work. If you have the skills, however, you can expect to earn on average approximately $87,000 a year.

Because of the high level knowledge of computer applications that is required to be an animator, most companies hire only those that have a bachelor’s degree in either graphic design, fine arts, animation, or a related degree. Some classes that you can look forward to taking are 2D Animation, 3D Modeling, Character Development and Design, and Digital Illustration.
