This Year the Pell Grant is More Than $5500!
You may have heard the good news – Pell Grant maximum awards have increased to $5550 for the 2010-2011 school year. But what does this mean to you?
It means that eligible students may receive government funds to help pay for their undergraduate education. The maximum award per year is more than five grand!
To find out if you are eligible, you must fill out a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The government will then make a decision based on the following:
- Your "Expected Family Contribution" - how much money you are expected to contribute to your education, which is calculated by looking at your income and assets
- Your cost of attendance
- If you are a part-time or full-time student
- If you are attending school for a full academic year or less
School is not out of reach! Education Connection can match you to a school that is right for you. Just fill out the free and easy matching tool to get started.
