Need a Military Ball Date? Ask a Celebrity!
It looks like the new trendy thing for military members to do is to ask celebrities to military balls. It started out with a marine asking for the company of “Friends with Benefits” and “Black Swan” star Mila Kunis. When she found out through her “Benefits” costar Justin Timberlake and agreed to go, Timberlake himself got asked to a ball.
Soon after Betty White was asked, and when she couldn’t go due to scheduling with her show “Hot in Cleveland” Linda Hamilton stepped up to the plate saying that “I’m no Betty White, but if you’ll have me, I’d love to go with you.” Now that sounds like a great idea. Not only would you get a famous person as your date, but Linda Hamilton could totally work security while you enjoy your night of fun!

Too bad the GI Bill doesn’t include mandatory celebrity dates (although it does include some hefty education benefits that make up for the lack of celebrity). As for now, even more celebs are being asked to military balls via YouTube requests from soldiers.
It’s a really nice way for Hollywood to show its support of our troops. After all, they put their lives on the line for us every day. The only question I have now is how Carrot Top could’ve possibly been overlooked as the perfect military ball date?!?
