Virtual Tour Gives You a Glimpse into the U.S Air Force Academy
Millions of Americans have turned to the military for a steady paycheck and job security. In 2009 enlistments grew enough that the armed forces exceeded their goals for the first time since 2004.
If you’re considering joining the armed forces, it’s likely that you’re still choosing which branch to go into. The United States Air Force has developed a way to show you that their branch might be right for you.
The U.S Air Force Academy has created an online virtual tour which allows students to get the same experience as they would in a real tour.
Already boasting 400 visitors, the virtual academy is available by invite only and tours are usually guided by an administrator.
In the virtual tour students can customize their avatar, use animated gestures, chat with fellow prospective cadets, walk through the academic halls, learn interesting facts about the academy, play trivia and learn about the dorm halls. Prospective students also get the chance to play interactive games like football and hockey. Test out your schools on an obstacle course and flight simulation. You can even participate in a virtual parachute jump.
More and more schools are using virtual worlds to provide students with a better academic experience whether it is through a virtual tour or online education.
