What do you get when you combine a late night talk show host, Jimmy Fallon, The Roots, student loan concerns and President Obama? A slow jam! Tuesday night, politics, entertainment and music combined and the end result was increased awareness about the current student loan situation.

With many jokes targeting women and their voices—referencing the ability of women to speak their opinions rather loudly—it’s interesting that when it comes to the media, there is “a severe gender disparity” and women’s “voices are disproportionately excluded from public discourse.” Basically, all the kidding about women voicing their demands and being heard is bunk when it comes to mass communications.

If you’re a college student who dons your “lucky” clothing items thinking it will help you out during an exam in which you might need a little extra assistance, you’re not alone.
When you think of fun promoting on college campuses across the U.S., what’s the first thing you think of? Fraternities, sororities and chapter houses or maybe gearing up for the most intense football game of the year? Could be but nope, not what we’re talking about —and it isn’t that all of the aforementioned aren’t exciting or cool.
It’s the app that has professional photographers moaning and groaning—most of you have heard of it and use it often to make your cell phone pics look, well, pretty darn amazing. It’s Instagram! iPhone users have already been riding this tech wave for a while now and upload 5 million plus pics per day. It even earned the Apple 2011 app of the year!
There’s great news for college students among the economic woes we hear of when we turn on the TV or read the headlines news. There’s been a hiring turnaround and it should give graduating students some more hope! This recent change has “most college campuses teeming with companies eager to hire” and the National Association of Colleges and Employers expects 2012 to reflect a 10.2 percent hiring increase—even higher than the originally thought 9.5 percent!
Some of you may remember Face/Off, right? The flick about an FBI agent, Sean Archer (John Travolta), and a terrorist, Castor Troy (Nicolas Cage) who undergo a secret procedure in which they trade faces. We don’t want to ruin the whole movie here…but, medical degree seekers, this full face transplant is no longer just a fictitious element of action movies!
