Law and Organization Courses

People must deal with the law on a daily basis -- it is much broader than placing individuals in a category of “criminal” or “civil.” In this course, students will examine the roles of those involved in the law and take a closer look at the organizations that create, interpret and apply the laws. Students will also examine the social organization of law, arrangements and relations involved in the process as well as the social characteristics of those who interpret and administer the laws.

Course Objectives

  • By the end of this course, students will be able to describe the organizational structure of the law including both legal and extra-legal social institutions.
