Paralegal Profession

During this course, students will learn about the important role paralegals play in the legal system. They will also examine what paralegals do on a daily basis as well as what skills they need to possess in order to be successful in this field. There are many educational opportunities open to people who wish to pursue this profession and the class will discuss in detail the different options.

Participants will utilize various websites in class, including those of the nation’s two largest paralegal associations. Individuals will create their own personal reference file (PRF), making them capable of communicating and having discussions with fellow students.

There will also be a live seminar during the course where students will learn in a “virtual” classroom with their instructor and fellow classmates. During this, people will be able to interact and ask questions about the course and different topics.

Course Objectives

  • By the end of this course, students should have a good understanding of the important role paralegals play in the legal community. A paralegal’s job is to provide services and guidance to the attorney and assist their clients in a variety of tasks. There are many different educational routes an individual can take to become a paralegal, including a degree or certificate programs.
