  • 85.1% of students received some type of financial aid while attending a 4-year institution.
  • 78.4% of students received some type of financial aid while attending a 2-year institution.
  • $7,100: The average annual student loan amounts for first-time, full-time undergrad students

In previous academic years (2011-12)ii

  • $2,300: The average amount that work-study participants received in wages.
  • 57% of all undergrads received federal student aid.
  • $8,200: The average amount of federal student aid received by students
  • Among all independent undergrads, 30% had incomes under $10,000 and 20% had incomes between $10,000 and $19,999.
