An Associate of Applied Science in Accounting is a two year degree curriculum for students who are passionate about organization, math, and details. The degree encompasses many different areas of accounting and business like cost accounting principles, finances, auditing, competencies in non-profit accounting, taxation, applying and preparing accounting standards for presentations, management, and estimating the value of liabilities and equities. Leadership is a key component in this program along with the importance of strong communication skills whether written or oral. An Associate of Applied Science in Accounting can assist students in being employed in the business industries of their choosing and they may hold positions such as Financial Data Analyst, Payroll Administrator, Audit Assistant, and Junior Staff Accountant. Critical thinking and innovative problem solving skills are employed when students learn about the theoretical frameworks of accounting and accounting methodologies.
