BA in Asian Studies

Asia has long been and will continue to be a dominant force in the world. So why not obtain a bachelor’s degree in Asian Studies and find out more about this part of the globe? The study of Asia is a large, interdisciplinary field that can include history, politics, language, culture, economics, and literature. The degree will look at past and present issues surrounding Asian cultures as well as give unique insight into their developments and accomplishments. Students may also often be required to study an Asian language such as Japanese, Cantonese, or Korean to at least an intermediate level of proficiency. Often, many important aspects of a culture and people can be imparted through a study of their language.

Many careers are possible with a bachelor’s degree in Asian studies, and they will often depend upon the nature of the concentration chosen. Those that have taken an interest in economics or business as it pertains to Asia can look to a career in an international industry.
