Bachelor of Arts-Communication

A bachelor of arts in communication is a four year degree that focuses on teaching students the role of communications in all life aspects including interpersonal communication, communication ethics, small-group communication, macro-communication, media, and organizational communication. Theoretical frameworks will be analyzed and critiqued which hone critical thinking skills and problem solving abilities. Students will be engaged professional writing, public speaking, media relations, website development, photography, and videography. Organization is a key component in communications and appropriate coursework will educate students in oral, visual, and written communication techniques. A bachelor of arts in communications will prepare students for future careers as professionals who will utilize technology such as computers, social media, and online communities in business, law, journalism, and other related fields. The applications of communication ideologies will be explored and applied in effective manners and within exciting environments. Students acquiring their bachelor of arts in communication degree will receive educations thoroughly grounded in research, hands-on projects, and media relations. Upon receiving their bachelor’s, students can decide whether or not to pursue upper level graduate degrees like their master’s or PhD.
