Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration-Hospitality Management

Dealing with customers, serving food, and managing entertainment services is a well-honed skill that students will learn with a concentration in hospitality management within business administration. The business aspects to the degree will include many of the standard business courses dealing with principles of accounting, finance, management, and economics. But with a concentration in hospitality management, students will be given an education in many hospitality-specific areas such as the management of restaurants, safe food handling procedures, monetary issues and hurdles specific to food service and the entertainment industry, and more. To work well in the hospitality industry requires students to learn to treat their relationships with customers as special and to learn to lend a certain air of culture and refinement to their positions, depending upon the specific industry.

Those with an emphasis in hospitality management and a degree in business administration will be ideally suited for pursuing business-related positions within hospitality-related businesses such as restaurants, hotels, casinos, resorts, or other such destinations. With the poise and knowledge of customer interactions gained from the degree, graduates will make excellent customer service representatives for many types of businesses.
