Students who have previous coursework in applied behavioral science and who are interested in management may want to consider a bachelor’s in organizational management with a concentration in applied behavioral science. Concentration coursework must be at least 12 hours or four courses in approved applied behavioral science courses. By combining the coursework in applied behavioral science and organizational management, students will have the opportunity to create a tailored degree program combining both disciplines. This interdisciplinary approach helps students to utilize existing credits they may already have, creating a well-rounded graduate with educational experience in both areas. Companies, non-profits, and governmental agencies that specialize in offering human services to their clients will always have a need for managers that have a wider breadth of knowledge. Organizational managers help create and define strategic plans for organizations based on a number of components, including corporate culture, human resources needs, and customer or client needs. Organizational managers also work closely to meet the human needs of organizations, for both employees and clients. Often, those needs are constantly changing, and organizational managers must be able to think ahead and understand changes, even before they occur. Once changes do occur, managers need to be able to create strategic plans to manage the changes and adjust plans as needed to fit corporate goals and human needs.
