Bachelor of Business Administration-Human Resource Management/Accelerated Program

In years past, the human resources department of many organizations was part of the accounting department, responsible mainly for handing out paychecks. Today, however, human resources management is a multi-faceted and complex area of business management, utilizing the latest in training and technology to help corporations large and small manage their most prized asset – their employees. A BA in Business Administration – Human Resources Management will focus on core business practices such as accounting and management, as well as study in the specialized area of human resources. Students will delve into a very wide range of topics, including organizational psychology, workforce planning and development, training and leadership, and employee health and safety. Human resource managers ensure that employees have access to benefits, including workman’s compensation, and also handle other workplace human-interest issues. A large part of human resources involves employee training in subjects as diverse as multiculturalism and gender politics in the work place to creating job training manuals. Some Human Resource programs may also offer an accelerated option for their students. These accelerated programs work in one of two ways: For working adults, programs offer courses that allow students to complete the program in less than four years; As a gateway to a master’s degree, credits in the undergraduate program may be applied as usable credit in a Master’s Degree program.
