Bachelor of Fine Arts BFA in Visual Communication-Digital Design

Digital Design is offered as a focus area by some higher education institutions for the Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Visual Communication. For those just starting their college major research, visual communication is the process of conveying ideas or messages through images. So, in other words, a photograph is a form of visual communication, as is an advertising logo or even an animated ad that you see on the internet. Digital design is one way that professionals create images for the purpose of visual communication. Web design, graphic design, and computer animation are all considered types of digital design and visual communication methods.

Although some schools do offer the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Communication – Digital Design, more often this degree is offered as a graphic or web design degree. In all three, the curriculum you will encounter focuses heavily on learning the fundamentals of design and communicating through visual imagery. These degrees also tend to require students to take some courses on how to use design software. Objectives of a design degree including digital and graphic design may include teaching students to use creative solutions in visual problem solving and how to develop self-management skills within the creative process.
