If you want to really delve into your creative talents, than a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fine Art is for you. Some colleges might call this degree a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art or just a Bachelor of Fine Arts, but these are all essentially the same degree. All three of these may be good degrees for those who want to enter the art world as either an artist or as an art dealer. If you minor in art history, this may also be an option if you want to become a curator or art historian. Lastly, if you are interested in entering the world of academia and becoming an art professor at a university, this degree could be a great way to build a solid foundation. Although, if becoming a professor is your goal keep in mind you will probably have to continue in school and get a master’s degree.
Students entering a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fine Art program will probably have to choose a specific artistic medium on which to focus their studies. These include sculpture, ceramics, painting, photography and print-making. For students who want to enter the commercial art world, some colleges may offer graphic design as a track. The curriculum will probably vary greatly depending on what track you choose – for instance, those who want to earn a degree in sculpture will have to take courses in sculpture and other three dimensional art and those who want to earn a degree in graphic design will take courses on computer graphics.
