Bachelor of Science in Business/Integrated Supply Chain and Operations Management

Supply chain and operations management is a complex field of study involving the management of a wide and varied set of processes from the implementation of production and manufacturing, to shipping and transportation management, and on to customer fulfillment. This complicated set of events is comprised of management duties in both supply chain and operations management. Students in an integrated supply chain and operations management degree will be exposed to practical applications as well as technological developments that help industries and corporations run more smoothly and efficiently. Supply chain managers are by nature analytical thinkers who are able to get an overview of an operation, rather than focusing on just a few details.

One of the main goals of supply chain and operations management is the ability to create a system of supply and operations management that saves money while increasing efficiency. This is becoming frequently more necessary as corporations outsource materials and production throughout the world. Students will learn a variety of skills and techniques to gain efficiency, including negotiation skills, market analysis, and collaboration and workflow management. Some programs may require students to complete an internship with a partnering corporation near the end of their studies as a way to gain real-world knowledge before graduation. Supply chain managers are in great demand, with the job field expected to increase as corporations continue to grow globally.
