Eastern Kentucky University's (EKU) fire science programs can be completed while you work. If you are looking to enhance your skills, the 31-32 credit hour Fire & Safety Engineering Technology certificate program will teach you knowledge that can be immediately applied in the workplace. You may complete the certificate program without any prior college credit.
Applications for admission are accepted five times annually. Students in the Fire & Safety Engineering Technology bachelor degree or certificate programs may qualify for federal financial aid and/or private student loans which means that you can concentrate on your education now without having to pay out-of-pocket.
Fire & Safety faculty are nationally and internationally known for their teaching, research and dedication to the fire and safety fields. They are active in numerous professional organizations including the National Association of Fire Investigators, National Fire Protection Association, International Society of Fire Service Instructors, International Association of Arson Investigators and the International Association of Fire Chiefs and work closely with FEMA to establish standards of practice. The faculty is especially dedicated to student success and utilizes a hands-on approach to teaching.
