An online Master of Education degree with a concentration in E-Learning from the University of Illinois Global Campus can give you a broad and detailed understanding of the development, delivery and management of e-learning. Students will gain the necessary knowledge to create high quality e-learning courses, and the skills to deliver and assess e-learning programs for students in academic environments and the workforce. A growing proportion of higher education is being delivered via the Internet because of widespread access and the potential for high quality interactive teaching. Universities, colleges, and community colleges are beginning to encourage their faculties and instructors to gain formal training in online pedagogies and technologies. Corporations are also increasingly relying on e-learning to educate, train, and motivate their employees, suppliers, and customers. The curriculum of the e-learning concentration can be completed in as little as 18 months. It consists of nine courses for a total of 36 credit hours using Desire2Learn course management software. Admission to the Master of Education requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; and a 3.00/4.00 GPA computed on the basis of the last 60 hours or the equivalent of the baccalaureate degree.
