Graduate Certificate in Biotechnology Management

UMUC's Graduate Biotechnology Management Certificate is designed to provide the student with a solid foundation in the technical, business, and ethical issues facing the industry today.

Upon receipt of the certificate, students will be able to:

  • explain the regulatory affairs process for bringing biotechnology products to market
  • practice and apply interpersonal skills in team building and project leadership
  • use financial tools to monitor and manage biotechnology projects
  • and discuss legal and ethical issues in the life sciences.

Core coursework includes: Societal Issues in Biotechnology, Introduction to Bioinformatics, Techniques of Biotechnology, Biotechnology and the Regulatory Environment, and Commercializing Biotechnology in Early-Stage Ventures. This certificate requires 15 semester hours to complete.
