UMUC's Graduate Foundations of Distance Education Leadership Certificate is intended to represent the study of the four basic foundational aspects of the field of distance education: history and theory, media and technology, economics, and support of the student. Core coursework includes: Foundations of Distance Education, Technology in Distance Education, Costs and Economics of Distance Education, and Learner Support in Distance Education and Training. This certificate requires 12 semester hours to complete.
Applicants must have a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Individual programs may have additional requirements.
