Graduate Certificate in Informatics

UMUC's Graduate Informatics Certificate provides a foundation in information technology and introduces current issues. Students learn to identify key issues and trends in IT and gain familiarity with basic network operations and functions, as well as the major kinds of application software. The certificate is ideal for professionals from fields other than IT, as well as for IT professionals who desire to refresh their knowledge and skills.

Core coursework includes: Information Technology Foundations; Information Technology Infrastructure; Relational Database Systems; Computer Security, Software Assurance, Hardware Assurance, and Security Management; and IT Acquisitions Management. This certificate requires 15 semester hours to complete.

Applicants must have a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Individual programs may have additional requirements.
