The Forensic Nursing Certificate program is for individuals interested in pursuing a career as a forensic nurse -- a nurse who specializes in death. Students will learn their way around a crime scene investigation and legal proceedings, as well as explore the treatment of victims and their perpetrators in abuse cases during scientific investigations.
Other topics covered include criminal activity, violence, traumatic events and sexual assault. By the end of this course, students will have the tools they need to identify injuries and cause of death in a case as well as be able to document findings, collect evidence and inform victims on the proper follow-up care.
