Online Courses: Psychology Of Disability

This course focuses specifically on disabilities with psychiatric or psychological factors to them. Students will be introduced to long-term health care disabilities such as immune disorders with an emphasis on HIV, chronic pain and sensory impairments, which include both hearing and vision. Students will also look at bipolar conditions, sickle cell disease, post-traumatic stress disorder and schizophrenia. The students will also learn how to help patients deal with these disabilities.
