Master of Arts in Teaching

The Columbia College Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) is designed primarily for teaching professionals.

The program focuses on the three major areas critical to educators:

  • psychological and philosophical foundations;
  • curriculum and instruction in education;
  • methods of measurement and assessment for evaluation.

Reflection, collaboration and research are developed as skills integral to teachers' effective decision making and are incorporated into all courses through to the culminating experience - the integrative project.
