Master of Distance Education: Distance Education Policy and Management
The Master of Distance Education (MDE) program at UMUC is designed to provide individuals with the skills necessary for the management of the distance education enterprise within educational, business, government, and nonprofit organizations. In an ever rapidly expanding field, the graduates of the MDE program will be prepared to engage in the planning, budgeting, development, delivery, and support of distance education and distance training programs.
Graduates of the distance education policy and management specialization, depending on their background, can find positions such as: director of distance learning (or director of extended education), project/program manager/director, project management assistant, coordinator of online instruction, financial advisor/account manager, and distance learning librarian.
