Master of Fine Arts in Fine Art

Students who are interested in artwork whether visual such as sculpture, photography, painting, ceramics, and drawing, or performing in nature such as voice, music, and theater often find that acquiring their Master of Fine Arts in Fine Art is the right educational track for them. The graduate level program typically takes two to three years to complete and involves academic based coursework, studio work, and individually tailored projects outside the classroom. Students are encouraged to set high expectations and to be self-motivated in order to ensure the most success in their fields. Artistic vision is necessary if students are to procure their Master of Fine Arts in Fine Art since they must collaborate with other students, faculty, and outside artists to strengthen their passion for their art and expound upon their skills. Time-management is a necessity since students will be obtaining their degree in a demanding environment. The founding belief that art is not created in a vacuum but, instead, in a socio-cultural setting is key to a Master of Fine Arts in Fine Arts. MFA students should be prepared to have some experience in their chosen fields before entering the program and a deep passion for studying what they love
