Master of Science in Justice Administration & Crime Management

This new master's degree program was developed by subject matter experts who understand the importance of criminal justice administration in today's dynamic environment. Designed for graduate-level students in sworn, public, and civilian positions, the in-depth curriculum helps those who are veterans in the field, as well as those new to criminal justice, understand how to work with forensic data, how to apply the latest analysis to criminal case management, how to plan and budget their resources, and how to lead a team and work collaboratively with a variety of public and private agencies. A special section on technical and cognitive writing is especially helpful for those responsible for budgets and securing supplemental funding through grant writing, and for those seeking promotions in the field of criminal justice.

Students who complete this degree should be able to: Examine criminological trends throughout various criminal justice professions; Formulate public policy obtained through interdisciplinary criminal justice research; Evaluate the effectiveness of crime analysis and investigation; Compare and contrast contemporary and classical theories of criminal behavior; Develop budgets and other planning documents utilized in criminal justice professions.

The 36-hour degree program is structured in a cohort format allowing students to complete the degree in 18 months.
