UMUC's Master of Science in Technology Management program provides a broad-based core of management competency in the central business functions, along with a deep understanding of generic technologies that enable specific business capabilities. The homeland security management specialization provides the background to deal with a wide range of man-made and natural threats and vulnerabilities at the community and organizational level. Students learn to perform security risk assessments and to develop strategies to mitigate threats to people, physical facilities, and information-dependent critical infrastructure as well to plan for and manage operational recovery.
Depending upon the prior level of experience, this degree can prepare students for careers in some fields such as: Enterprise Chief Operation Officers; Facility and Plant Managers; Federal, State, and Local Government Emergency Planners and Policy Makers; and Law Enforcement, Emergency, and Medical Practitioners and Administrators.
