PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision

Gain advanced individual and group-counseling skills, teaching and supervision competencies, and research skills. Evaluate the theory and practice of counseling through quantitative and qualitative research. Become equipped to model the highest ideals and ethics of the counseling profession as you prepare for a role as an educator and leader in the field of counseling.

The Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision is not a licensure program and does not prepare an individual to become a licensed counseling professional. The Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision is not accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). However, the program was developed to be in line with national standards for counselor education. Since Walden's Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision is a new program, the university is not yet able to apply for CACREP accreditation. Students will be notified at such time if the program becomes accredited in the future.
