Undergraduate Certificate in Negotiation and Conflict Management

UMUC'sUndergraduate Negotiation and Conflict Management Certificate provides an interdisciplinary perspective on group dynamics, problem solving, team building, and communication strategies that can lead to the effective resolution of conflicts. Grounded primarily in communication theory, the program allows students to emphasize aspects related to psychology, human resources, or business management.

The certificate provides knowledge and skills that are relevant to careers in criminal justice, social services, and education, as well as human resource management (especially for trainers and facilitators in team building and organizational development). Core coursework includes: Negotiation and Conflict Management, Alternative Dispute Resolution, and Organizational Communication. This certificate requires 18 semester hours to complete.
