Funding for Military Friendly Colleges in Nevada
There are many military friendly colleges in Nevada. Military Friendly Colleges in Nevada 2017, 55 Nevada schools got Post 9/11 GI bill funds for over 4,600 students totaling over $26 million.
There are six active programs offering benefits for veterans’ education. If eligible, all of these may be used to help fund a college education.

The most-used benefit program is the Post 9/11 GI Bill. At Nevada colleges, 79% of the beneficiaries used the Post 9/11 GI Bill to help fund their education.

University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) is the first military friendly school in Nevada on our list. It has over 975 students who get GI Bill benefits. The school gives academic, social, and administrative support to student veterans and active duty military members. And, UNLV has a VA Benefits Counselor as part of their VET SUCCESS program.
UNLV participates in the Yellow Ribbon Program. It offers
21 students up to $2,000 each, per year.

Pack Vets. Their goal is to help Vets reach a higher academic standard. Omega
Delta Sigma (ODS), Nevada Alpha chapter, is the school’s nationally recognized
co-ed veteran and military fraternity.

training. The retention rate for full time students who get military benefits
is 63%, while the rate for part time students is 100%.

Opportunity Colleges. It has a dedicated point of contact for support services
for veterans, military service members, and their families.
DeVry participates in the Yellow Ribbon Program. It

year.

training. The retention rate for full time students who get military benefits
is 67%, while the rate for part time students is 88%.

the Service Members Opportunity Colleges (SOC). It has a recognized Student
Veteran Organization (SVO) on campus.

students in the MAT, MED, and MFA divisions get up to $5,500 each, per year.
